When: Part 1 starts Tuesday 8/24/2010 at 9am and ends on Thursday 8/26/2010 at 4pm. Part 2 will take place on the phone and through video-conferencing and be completed within 6 weeks after the initial training.

Laughter Coaching is a transformational process which creates and re-establishes the practice of laughter into one’s life. By combining the benefits of laughter with the focused approach of coaching, clients are able to bring more lightness and freedom into their lives and increase their sense of well-being, lower stress and negativity, and direct this new strength and buoyant energy towards their goals.  By deepening their practice of laughter,  clients  are able to break free from long held beliefs and blocks that have held them back from their dreams.

The Levity Institute’s Certified Laughter Coach Training Program is a 36 hour Certificate Program which is comprised of both face to face training retreat hours and follow-up phone and video conference hours.

Part 1 = 3 days with Katie West in Albuquerque

  • From Ha Ha to A-Ha: The Power of Laughter
  • Laughter Exercises for 1-1 and small group coaching
  • Fundamentals of the Coaching Process
  • Foundational Principles of Laughter Coaching
  • The Art of Asking: Using Empowering Questions
  • Designing the Coach/Client Relationship
  • Coaching/Client Practice Sessions
  • Laughter Coaching and its applications
  • Coaching & Marketing outside the Box: Defining your style and approach

Part 2 = follow up training via phone + video-conferencing (to be completed within 6 weeks after the initial training)

  • 8 Coaching calls in the roles of  laughter coach/client
  • 4 Group Mentoring Sessions
  • 1 Individual Presentation
  • Certification Exam
  • Participants are also expected to read selected texts

Participants will graduate with requirements which match the ICF’s standards for ACSTH certification. ( The Levity Institute is waiting for their pending accreditation as the first Laughter Coach Training Program to be ICF certified. Upon receipt of accreditation, all students will receive an updated diploma.)
